Argentina Tours

Argentina is a country that offers the adventure traveller pretty much everything! It is a country with a vibrant culture that you can experience in its capital Buenos Aires, the metropolis that is alive with busy cafes, bars, restaurants, and of course, tango dance classes.

If you are more inclined to take in the abundance of natural wonders that are spread throughout Argentina you are spoiled for choice. There is the Perito Moreno Glacier located in the South where you can try ice trekking and listen to the unnerving sounds of the ice cracking or you can visit the awe-inspiring Iguazu Falls and take a helicopter ride over one of the most breath taking views on the planet. Then of course there is Patagonia! There is a huge selection of hiking and trekking tours on offer in Patagonia that cater for any fitness level so that you can explore every corner....before retiring to dinner and watching the Patagonia sunset while enjoying traditional Argentine dinner and fantastic local wines.

Argentina Tour FAQ's

What Is Included On A Tour To Argentina

Inclusions vary between tour providers but generally speaking all accommodation and travel during your trip, including internal flights, transfers and public transports are included. You will be responsible for arranging your flights and visa to Argentina, but if you need help all reputable tour providers will be available to assist.

During your trip there will be some pre-arranged evening meals that will also be included along with dinners and lunches when you are visiting more remote destinations.

If you are booking a trip that involves visiting pay to enter attractions these will also be included as will all equipment needed to enjoy activities.

Should you be in doubt what is and may not be included your chosen tour operator will usually have a detailed itinerary of the trip in which inclusions & exclusions are detailed. If you need further clarification get in contact with the tour operator via their contact page and they will be happy to advise further.

How Fit Do You Need To Be

Obviously this depends very much on the tour style that you are booking. If you are booking a hiking and trekking tour throughout Patagonia there will be considerably more physical exertion than if you are booking a wine tour.

Argentina tour operators are aware that this is a common concern for their customers and usually have some form of physical rating associated with the tour in question. That said, it may certainly be a good idea to clarify with the tour operator directly as concessions or adaptations can be made if you have particular concerns.

How Much Does An Argentina Tour Cost

Trips to Argentina come in many forms and all with different costs associated with them. Obviously duration forms the major part of the cost but also the activities included and your preferred travel style.

The larger tour operators will have very similar tours but with variances to accommodate all budgets, i.e. budget v luxury accommodation, public v private transport etc etc.

Generally speaking tours range between £1,500 to £8,000.

Helpful Tips About Argentina

  • Argentinian cuisine is very meat heavy, and rare meatless dishes are often covered in cheese. If you're a vegetarian or a vegan, be sure to do your research beforehand to find a restaurant that caters to you.
  • When on a holiday in Argentina, do as the locals do. Slow down and find a new appreciation for time. Relax, enjoy your meals, and (if you can avoid it) try not to rush.
  • The idea of personal space doesn't always apply in Argentina. Expect locals to stand close to you when chatting. They may also reach out and touch you. Try to remember this is their sociable culture and is not intended to make you feel uncomfortable.
  • Counterfeit money is very common in Argentina. Always double check your notes. Look for the bill's clear hologram by holding it up to the natural light, and run your fingers over the pictured diplomat's suit to ensure it is textured.
  • Around Christmas time, the city of Buenos Aires shuts down almost completely as locals head to the coast. Shops and restaurants (even fast food chains) will likely be closed, so plan ahead if visiting at this time. Consider visiting when the weather is best during Argentinian fall (March to May) or spring (September to November).
