Choosing Your Discovery

Adventure tour operators know that their customers have different needs and seek a variety of experiences and consequently Bolivia discovery tours come in all shapes and sizes. You can jump on a tour that takes you to a chosen destination and benefit from expert knowledge about the area from a local tour guide and continue exploring Bolivia on your own accord afterwards or alternatively, you can choose a longer adventure.

An in depth discovery trip will that will take you all over Bolivia, making sure that you take in all of the key sights, stop off in vibrant cities like La Paz for some free time, dive into the culture and history of the country, all while incorporating fun activities along the way.

Researching Your Bolivia Adventure

Before you begin searching for your perfect holiday to Bolivia it will benefit you to have in mind a few key criteria, things like what you want to get out of the trip, what you would like to see, duration etc. There are lots of options and most Bolivia tour operators will have a filter to allow you to search you trip more efficiently:

Duration - Give some thought to how long you can spend on your holiday. There is no point browsing through trips that extend beyond your return date and you will only frustrate yourself. If you are realistic you will discover that there are still a large range of tours available and just because the tour is shorter doesn't necessarily mean that you miss out.  Most tour operators are aware that many people will have some form of time constraint so will simply shorten time spent at particular locations i.e. 2 days visit to La Paz instead of 3. Of course, if you are fortunate enough not to be restricted by time, don't use the filter and keep all options open.

Logistics - If you are planning your own independent trip to Bolivia you can still take advantage of a small group tour. Some destinations are remote and difficult to get to, if you don't fancy arranging the travel or accommodation, you can arrange to jump on a discovery tour that is specific to where you want to go. You find there are a large range of tours that set off from La Paz and last only a couple of days.

Travel Theme - All discovery tours will have a theme. While all tours will take you to wonderful locations, they may have a lean towards activity based that will have an element of hiking and trekking, or they may have a cultural bias spending time in city museums or perhaps the most indulgent of themes...food and drink. It is important that you give this a little consideration and read the detailed itinerary of a trip to make sure that it is perfectly suited to you and don't find your self unexpectantly hiking across the Valle de la Luna.

This is only an option and if you prefer to have private accommodation it will be provided.

If you are a little worried about who will be on your tour please contact the tour provider directly and an advisor will be able to give you details of age ranges and sex of your potential travel partners. If you do not think you are well suited to a particular tour, the advisor will be able to match you with another that you will be more comfortable with.

This will vary depending on your destination and tour operator, but generally, tours will range from 6 to 16 persons and average 12.
